How do you know there's a fighter pilot on a boat?

He'll tell you.
This is your Captain Speaking...
As the son of an airline pilot, I grew up in the Midwest with a love for aviation and the standard issue fear of sharks. After earning a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Academy in 2001, I began flight training in Pensacola, FL. By 2005, I earned my wings in Meridian, MS, and flew the Navy’s F/A-18E Super Hornet with the Pukin’ Dogs of VFA-143, deploying to the Middle East. Later, I served as an Advanced Jet Instructor Pilot in the T-45C, with a stint at Special Operations Command Central in Qatar, before retiring in 2021 as an Adversary Instructor Pilot with the Sundowners of VFC-111 in Key West, flying the F-5.

In 2016, I became a Shareholder and Chief Operating Officer of Summerland Key Airport, where I founded Summerland Aviation to provide on-site aircraft flight instruction, inspection and maintenance — a service local pilots had long needed. During my time in Key West, I conquered my fear of the sea, diving and spearfishing the Florida Keys’ stunning reefs. I earned my US Coast Guard Captain’s License to share this passion, leading to the creation of Keybilly Adventures with my wife, Sarah, in 2021.

Keybilly Adventures combines my aviation and maritime expertise with Sarah’s graphic design and diving skills to offer private boat charters for pilots and their families. From snorkeling Looe Key to spearfishing, sandbar trips, or sunset cruises, we craft unforgettable fly-in adventures that outshine the $100 hamburger. Non-pilots are welcome, too, if I'm going flying to look for clear water, there are usually open seats.

I’m thrilled to share the Keys’ waters with new friends, teach my kids about stewardship of our environment, and live a life rooted in family, flying, and the sea. Contact me to book your next adventure with Keybilly Adventures!
